The College Football Playoff rankings debut in two days, but until then, the AFCA Coaches Poll top 25 gives fans the best look into where things stand after Week 9. Four different undefeated teams made their pitches on the field to sit at No. 1 in the first rankings to come Tuesday night.
In the Big Ten, both Ohio State and Michigan impressed against division rivals. The Buckeyes dropped Penn State in Happy Valley while Jim Harbaugh got his first heads-up win over Mel Tucker in the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry.
The SEC saw Georgia and Tennessee both cruise against division opponents. And the good news is that Bulldogs and Vols settle the score Saturday on the field with the winner as the likely No. 1 team in the country.
And now as the calendar turns to November and the season reaches Week 10, there is a new top 25 in college football.
